Just who does Donald Trump think he is?

We are at a strange and undeniably troubling stage in our democracy. Donald Trump has put us about as far from what the founders of this country intended in the first place.

At a time when a good president would be trying to heal the pain we all feel after case after case of police ignoring the, we have Trump who would rather show us how totalitarian governments handle protests. While ostensibly calling for protection of the peaceful protesters, instead, he called in the military. Of course he isn't at the level of Tiananmen Square, but he had AG William Barr get enforcement authorities to spray peaceful protesters with gas and beat them out of the way so he could have a photo op outside a church. Sinclair Lewis has been attributed to the phrase, "When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." And while Lewis never really said that and no true ownership of the phrase can be found, it screams truth in the face of Donald Trump.

The man hugs flags like they're one of his mistresses and although he has shown zero compunction toward doing anything "Christian" in his life. No, Trump only clumsily pretends to pray when surrounded by any of the evangelical money grubbers who believe he was "sent by God". Sorry, not sorry, to the contrary, his actions are antithetical to Christian behavior.

Trump wants to have a July 4 military parade just like the people he adores, Putin, Kim, and even Hitler. What he doesn't understand now, and what he may never understand, is that is just not the American way. We are a democracy, not some authoritarian dictatorship, and yet that is the direction Trump goes if he doesn't get his way.

This November, we must vote and get other like-minded people to cast their ballots against Donald Trump. I am not sure our country can survive another four years with him.

Covid-19 US-0 Covid-19 has shown the true colors of many Americans, particularly those of - shudder - Donald Trump. He could care less about the Pandemic, although he give it the old college try in the beginning, but, he wasn't that good in college either. That is correct, this " stable genius " saw it coming in January when he was briefed about it, but he ignored all the warnings and even two months later he was reticent to suggest people quarantine. And it later became a suggestion and he would leave it up to the governors instead of mandated quarantine for all but necessary workers. By leaving it to the governors, we saw Blue states cracking down, while Red States continued to ignore the warnings as if Conservatives were somehow too touch for the virus. Is Donald Trump Evil? By Robert Rouse Provocative headline? Absolutely! But is it a question that needs to be probed? Definitely. Within his first one-hundred days as president ( lower case "p" with Trump always ) Trump proved his xenophobic racism by declaring a ban on Muslims entering the country and although it obviously went against the First Amendment on making no laws pertaining to religion, the Conservative stacked Supreme Court upheld his decision. Of course this was just his first move and there were many shocking edicts to come down from the self-proclaimed " chosen one ".
