The Failures of Trump

The Failures of Trump

By Robert Rouse

Anyone with common sense who has opened their mind and looked at the truth, knows that Donald John Trump has been a complete and utter failure as a U.S. president (I even refuse to capitalize his title when it pertains to him).  We used to think George W. Bush was bad, but at least he had a grasp of human decency and understanding of what the office entails.  This post is going to take a look at various aspects of Trump's time in office thus far.

Foreign Affairs

  • Trump had no idea of who the Taliban really was and how they eschewed Western or even most modern contrivances.  He honestly believed he could stop the fighting in Afghanistan by luring them to a weekend in the bucolic Maryland countryside.  Trump thought because he loved money and luxury that everyone would.
  • Trump believed he could charm Kim Jong Un into giving up his missile and nuclear program, but after three high-profile meeting with the North Korean strongman, Trump has witnessed Kim still testing missiles.
  • Trump's philosophy of "I always say having a meeting is a
good thing," lead him to offer to meet with Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani to no avail.
  • Let's face the truth, Trump not only lacks common decency and manners, but even after being informed of the protocol of meeting with Queen Elizabeth, he still walked in front of her rather than behind or beside the
Queen and totally ignored everything he had been told.  He also shoved aside Duško Marković, the prime minister of Montenegro, to get in front of him at a NATO meeting.  Zero manners, zero protocol, zero diplomacy, and totally rude.

Racism

If there is one thing Trump has an abundance of, it is prejudices.  He has expressed racist ideas since he first started running.  We are coming up on 401 years since slaves were first introduced in into the Americas and 157 years since it was banned, but in Trump's mind, Black Americans are still subservient.  From the time he and his father were the time he told casino guy, John R. O'Donnell, "I have black guys counting my money. … I hate it."  Later he told O'Donnell, "Laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that."  More examples.
  • In his announcement he was running, he said, "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists."  In an attempt to soften the blow to others he added, "and some, I assume, are good people."
  • When Time magazine asked about his wealth in 1989, he said, "Who the f knows? I mean, really, who knows how much the Japs will pay for Manhattan property these days?"  Of course he used the racist derogatory term for the Japanese.
  • We all know he loves to dehumanize people by calling them animals or dogs.  He shows no respect for those he perceives as his enemies.
  • He loves to call Black people unintelligent or "low IQ", speaking of which our next topic ...

Trump is not very smart

We witnessed in his campaign how his adjectives always consisted of tremendous, beautiful or huge ('uge), but it goes much deeper than that.  Trump's former professor college professor at Wharton, William T. Kelley, had this to say about Trump as a student.  "Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had."  Louis Calomaris, a schoolmate of Trump's at Wharton said, he was "loath to really study much."  Former SNL cast member Taran Killam confirmed, as fellow SNL cast member Pete Davidson has stated previously, that Trump “struggled to read” at his episode’s table read and didn’t seem to get the jokes.  But of course, there is more.
  • While they were talking about upcoming hurricane Dorian, Trump asked "what's a Cat 5?"  Later in public, Trump said, "But a Category 5 is something that - I don't know that I've ever even heard the term other than I know it's there. That's the ultimate, and that's what we have unfortunately."  It was the fifth Cat 5 of his presidency.
  • He believed the F-35 jets were completely invisible.  While at a National Guard base, he said, "Actually, they're totally stealth, so maybe you won't see them come in. Okay? You won't see them come in, but they're coming in."  It's not Wonder Woman's invisible jet, it's invisible to radar.
  • He thought our moon was part of Mars, because he has no imagination.  In a Tweet he said, "For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!"
  • But don't take my word for it, here are some Trump associates, Rex Tillerson said, "he's a fucking moron."  Both Steve Mnuchin and Reince Priebus called him an "idiot".  Rupert Murdoch added an adjective saying he was a "fucking idiot."  His chief economic adviser Gary Cohn describes Trump as “dumb as shit,”.

In conclusion

No matter which way you slice it, Donald Trump is not fit to be president.  Every other president to date had a clear understanding of diplomacy and tact, Trump has neither.
While I am almost positive past presidents were racist, they kept it to themselves, Trump can't keep his mouth shut.  As far as intelligence, Trump is lucky he can Tweet.  Out of 45 presidents, Trump comes in dead last when it comes to intelligence.  He has no appreciation of nuance, not the cognizant ability to know what it means.  The sooner Donald John Trump is out of office, the better the world will be for everyone but morons and racists who see Trump as their patron saint.

Music hath charms

Music hath charms  By Robert Rouse In 1697, William Congreve wrote a tragic play called " The Mourning Bride " and one of the lines was, "music hath charms to soothe the savage breast".  For some reason people started quoting " savage beast ", which literally means music has the power to reach the heart and calm us.  Of course, this was the late 17th century and the world had not yet been put upon by Death Metal, which has the power to shake you to your final nerve. Allow me to tell you a bit about me.  I  was in my very first Rock band in 1969. We were called Size 10, simply because we all wore size 10 shoes.  I continued playing in bands until I was 42 years old, when I decided to get married and have a family.  Perhaps the best band I was in was called the Rich Hunter Band.  Everyone in the band was seasoned professionals with at least 20 years under their belt.  Below is an example.  It includes Ted Benson on keys, Tim Lathan on guitar, Jay Arnold on b

Covid-19 US-0

Covid-19  US-0 Covid-19 has shown the true colors of many Americans, particularly those of - shudder - Donald Trump.  He could care less about the Pandemic, although he give it the old college try in the beginning, but, he wasn't that good in college either.  That is correct, this " stable genius " saw it coming in January when he was briefed about it, but he ignored all the warnings and even two months later he was reticent to suggest people quarantine.  And it later became a suggestion and he would leave it up to the governors instead of  mandated quarantine for all but necessary workers.  By leaving it to the governors, we saw Blue states cracking down, while Red States continued to ignore the warnings as if Conservatives were somehow too touch for the virus. Of course, later on, Trump acted as if he was America's savior, but in reality, he was the worst person to handle a large country during a pandemic.  As mentioned in John Bolton's book, "In the Room W
